Medical Update

The diagnosis is mixed. While my sputum (medical term for loogie, I believe) came back clean, the chest x-ray revealed a noticeable thickening starting in the esophagus and running into one of my lungs. This has developed in the last few months, as I had a chest x-ray in October or November of last year and everything came back clear. The doctor is referring me to a lung specialist to see what that may be about. He also took another sample from my sinuses, which can best be described as taking a small Q-Tip, putting it on a long wire and shoving it up there until it tickles the bottom of your frontal lobes, to see if the staph infection is still there. If not, obviously good; if still present he’ll have me do a CT scan to get a better look at what’s going on than is possible with an x-ray.

If y’all please keep praying I’d appreciate it. Thanks.

    Prayers, love, etc.

Oh, Lord God, please accept our petitions that our brother Jerry be healed of what ails his body. Provide him strength of body.

In the meantime. Holy Spirit, please provide Jerry with strength of spirit during this time of tumult.

Holy Mary, Eternal Queen, please petition your Son, our Lord, Jesus Christ, for the sake of our friend Jerry. Please comfort him and be at his side as you were at the Cross for your son.

We humbly ask this in full confidence, through Christ, our Lord,

    Amen

ps. a prayer for the Poor Souls in Purgatory – for their expedited deliverance into the fullness of God’s presence is also helpful. They can’t pray for themselves. But they can pray for us.

Hoping and praying for the best of outcomes for you. I’m allergic to penicillin too, and also wonder what would be options for a serious infection.

But if an infection does kill me, I’ve put in for cremation, so at least I’ll get the last laugh over a bunch of stupid bugs. )

Enoch writes the very best prayers–and from my experience, the most effective!–so I’ll just add you to my rosary today.

    Hang in there, ok?
